Observing vulnerability in existing homeland defense capabilities, GammaSight’s physicists began work on a revolutionary approach for detecting dangerous materials in a fast, safe, secure and accurate manner. The resulting product is a detection and inspection system named NIRIDS (Non Intrusive Rapid Inspection and Detection System) capable of doing what no other existing technology can accomplish.
GammaSight’s proprietary system can rapidly and simultaneously detect weapons of mass destruction (WMD), including fissile materials, chemical weapons, plastic explosives, and conventional explosives with a commercially-viable high throughput and a low false alarm rate providing a higher level of protection than previously possible — all, without the need for operator intervention or subjective decision making. NIRIDS is a technological leap forward, dramatically different from the single-threat detection systems currently in operation.
